Our PYO pumpkin season is now over and we are currently closed.
We would like to thank all our customers for their support this September/October and we will be back with even more pumpkins in 2025!
In preparation for Christmas we will be selling Yorkshire grown Christmas trees starting on November 22nd and for that extra special Christmas dinner our farm reared free range bronze turkeys are now available to order online.
We will reopen for strawberry picking in mid to late June 2025

We provide punnets to pick your fruit into. These either hold approximately 1Kg or 3Kg of fruit when full and can be recycled at home after use.
We have a number of different varieties of fruit which are ripe and ready for picking at different times over the summer. You will be advised on arrival the best places to pick. Just follow the map. Staff members will be on hand to help.
Please only pick ripe fruit – it does not ripen when it is removed from the plant and picking under ripe fruit is a waste of our crop and your money! Only pick the fruit you are prepared to pay for. Prices are displayed at the entrance.
Strawberries are best picked via the stalk, when red all over with a small length of stalk still attached. Raspberries should just fall into your hand when gently pulled without their stalk.
Please bring your basket(s) to be weighed. The fruit is charged by weight, per Kg. You pay for all that you pick.
We accept card payments and cash.
We recommend washing your fruit and hulling your strawberries (removing the green calyx on the top of the strawberry) just prior to eating, as the fruit will deteriorate more quickly once hulled and washed. Eat on their own, in a smoothie or in a dessert and enjoy!
We have a shop selling refreshments – hot and cold drinks, ice cream and snacks etc. Also available is our Kemps Farm Jam made from our own fruit.
Toilets are available on site.
A small children’s play area is available with parental supervision only.
Some animals from our farm are available to see. Please do not feed them as some foods can make them very poorly.
Tractor and trailer rides around the picking fields are available included in the ticket price.

Online purchase of tickets is essential For Horsforth PYO, Leeds, so we can limit visitor numbers over the course of a day. This helps with car parking availability and reduces queuing. Tickets must be shown on arrival for admission to the picking fields, either printed out or on your phone.

We provide wheelbarrows to make it easier for you to carry your selected pumpkin(s) around the fields and back to the shop.
We have a number of different varieties of pumpkins so you can choose which size, colour etc you prefer. The map shows their original location but some people do move them around a bit so they might have moved!
Select the pumpkin(s) you wish.
Please do not drop, throw, sit or stand on the pumpkins – they are actually more delicate than they look.
Size – we charge for the pumpkins depending on their size – from mini munchkins up to Jumbo. A price guide is displayed at the entrance and shop.

If you would like to carve your pumpkin at the farm, please purchase a carving kit from the shop and we will direct you to the carving area – subject to Covid restrictions at the time. Or take home to cook and carve at your leisure.

Pick your own fruit is a fun activity for all the family. The children learn where their food comes from whilst foraging amongst the plants looking for the biggest juiciest strawberry or raspberry they can find, at the same time enjoying the fresh air with the bonus of going home with fabulous tasty fruit.
Pumpkin picking in the Autumn for Halloween carving and eating is a must. We have lots to choose from, from the Giants to the minis, warts and all! Halloween witches and skeletons can be found around the fields too, so don’t forget to bring your camera.

The Kemp family have been growing fruit for the PYO season since 1984, selecting varieties for flavour rather than shelf life, as no food miles are involved. We now specialise in strawberries, grown both in the ground and at table top height, and raspberries for the summer season and pumpkins in October.
All the fruit is grown outdoors exposed to the unpredictability of the Yorkshire weather, ripening in natural sunshine and so ready for picking in its natural season, which we think adds to the flavour of the fruit. Come and see for yourselves.
